Kintsugi Way – Two.

What the yoga mat taught me about business:

1. Feet on the ground

Stay in the present moment. In meetings or when working on projects or tasks stay focussed on ONE thing. Phone and emails away and really be there. Not only will productivity rise you will just feel better - and so will those around you as they have your full attention.

2. Bend only to where it feels comfortable

It is good to stretch yourself, and your team, but never to the point of exhaustion or injury. Feel and understand the healthy tension between BAU and stretch, and be comfortable leaving it at that so there is plenty left in the tank for things other than work

3. Be mindful of others but not focussed on them

Always be thoughtful and aware of those around you but know the most important focus should be on your actions. Other people's choices and behaviours, you cannot control. Yours on the other hand - 100% up to you.

4. Keep your heart open

This is one we do not talk about enough in business. For some reason many leave their open hearts at the door. Even though I have seen and experienced (as I am sure you have) the most powerful, magical and influential leadership moments during times of immense vulnerability and openness. Keep an open heart and mind when you walk into the office (or jump on Zoom!) today and watch what happens.

Next time you find yourself in a manic moment, channel your inner yogi.
