Energy Leaks: People pleasing.

“Yes" can be the most dangerous word in your vocabulary.

People-pleasing often masquerades as kindness, but it quietly erodes your boundaries, time, and energy. Harvard Health warns that chronic stress and coping mechanisms like suppressing your needs or emotions can increase your risk of anxiety, hypertension, lowered immune function, and even cardiovascular disease.

This pattern is not a personality flaw. It’s a stress response, rooted in our nervous system’s desire to be liked, safe, and needed. But constantly saying “yes” when you mean “no” disconnects you from your own values and leads to burnout.

Pause and check in. How do I feel in my body when I’m about to say yes?

Practice one small “no” every day to protect your peace.

Your body knows. Listen to it.
